St Albans motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Three are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A405, from 10pm January 13 to 5am January 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 6 to junction 8 - carriageway closure, lane closure and diversion route for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• A414, from 10.30pm January 7 to 5am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 Watling Street Roundabout, Lane closures for surveying works on behalf of Volkafitzpatrick.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A414, from 10pm January 22 to 6am January 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 6 to junction 6A, carriageway closure for resurfacing works, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• A405, from 10pm January 29 to 5.30am February 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 20 to junction 21A, carriageway and lane closure for surfacing works, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.
