Fairport Convention formed in 1967, and their album 'Liege & Lief' was voted the most influential folk album of all time by BBC Radio 2 listeners. They have also won a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award.

The band features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar, Ric Sanders on violin and Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals.

They will be joined on stage by former member Dave Mattacks on drums.

Their Harpenden set will be stuffed with a mix of established Fairport favourites, along with surprises from albums old and new.

Fairport Convention's story has been celebrated with TV documentaries on BBC Four and Sky Arts.

Support for their winter 2024 tour will come from PLUMHALL (Michelle Plum and Nick B. Hall).

Using a combination of acoustic and electric instruments, with occasional electronica, the duo create a "breath-taking" soundscape to their powerful original songs.
