A St Albans music group received a standing ovation for performing Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of the Moon' on ukeleles.
The Ver Players performed 'The Dark Side of the Uke' to a packed house at the Roman Theatre in Verulamium on Monday, September 4 - to celebrate the legendary Pink Floyd album's 50th anniversary.
The open-air concert featured spoken word sections, chaotic sound effects and ambitious synthesiser loops, and was praised by audience members.
Irene Peaty, from Childwickbury, said: "It was amazing and probably one of the best musical performances I have been to."
The concert was the brainchild of ukelele teacher and Ver Players founder Stephen Wragg.
He said: "Pink Floyd played the amphitheatre in Pompeii in the 1970s, and for years I had wanted to do something similar.

"Taking on such a complex and fabled album wasn’t easy. But thankfully we managed to strike the right tone, mixing joyous celebration with surprising pathos."
All proceeds from the evening will go towards mental health charity Mind, in keeping with the themes of the album.
Mind in Mid Herts fundraising and communications officer Emma Fullerton-Frost said: "We're always so grateful when those in our community recognise the work that we do, so a huge thank you to the entire group for putting on such a wonderful musical performance as well as to all those who bought tickets."
