A new First World War memorial has been unveiled by the mayor of St Albans.
Councillor Anthony Rowlands unveiled the monument on Sunday (July 23) in Harperbury Park, between London Colney and Radlett.
The grey stone memorial is in memory of the RFC/RAF London Colney Airfield, which opened in 1916 and closed in 1919.

During its use, the airfield straddled three different parishes.
To commemorate this, district and parish councillors from Shenley, St Stephens and London Colney attended the event.
The monument reads: "Dedicated to all units and personnel based here.
"Not forgotten."

Cllr Rowlands unveiled the memorial jointly with the director general of the Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust, Kenneth Bannerman.
The trust funded the monument, which has been placed on a plot of land donated by Bloor Homes.
The unveiling of the monument was coordinated by the London Colney Local History Society.
