Two men have been involved in a reported attempted burglary in Markyate.

The incident allegedly took place at around 12.30pm on Saturday, March 18, at the Richmond Square block of flats in Hicks Road.

According to Hertfordshire police, two men gained entry to the communal block of apartments, before attempting to force entry to a front door.

Hertfordshire police have now appealed for witnesses and information.

One suspect is described as a white man, of average build with dark brown hair, dark coloured glasses and a short-sleeve t-shirt.

The second suspect is described as a tall, white man with light brown/dirty blonde hair.

Both individuals are described as being aged between their 30s and early 40s.

PC Sarah Scanlon said: "Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.

“If you saw anything, or saw anyone acting suspiciously around the area at this time, please email me at sarah.scanlon@herts.police.uk.”
