Young dancers earn a place in ballet

TALENTED young dancers Grace Manley and Hannah Griffiths are appearing in a production of Coppelia with the English Youth Ballet next week.

They were selected to take part in the three performances of the Delibes ballet at a theatre in Woking after a competitive audition in February.

The production can be seen next Friday and Saturday, September 2 and 3, and the two girls are currently involved in an 11-day intensive rehearsal process.

Grace, 15, who lives in Redbourn is a pupil of Roundwood Park School in Harpenden and belongs to the Judith Wallington Dance School while Hannah, 16, who lives in Harpenden and goes to St George’s School, is a pupils at the Wheathampstead Dance Academy, Tring Park Association and The Dance Studio.

The English Youth Ballet is one of the largest UK ballet companies and brings together principal dancers with local students selected for their talent and potetion.
