FOLK-rockers The Levellers get a busy few days underway at the Alban Arena when they appear next Wednesday, May 15.
The Brighton band sold more platinum, gold and silver albums in the 1990s than any other act and their 25 years in the business have resulted in sell-out tours and 10 years of their own festival, Beautiful Days.
They come on stage at 8pm and tickets at £21.50 are available from the box office on 01727 844488 or online at www.alban-arena.co.uk
It’s all change the following night, Thursday, May 16, when Hormonal Housewives, starring British pop icon Toyah Wilcox, comes to the stage of the Arena for the first time.
Aimed at those whose menfolk are more James May than Christian Gray, it looks at such diverse subjects as the joys of teenagers, the challenge of IKEA, the madness of holiday reps and the insanity of DIY.
The show, which starts at 7.30pm, also features writer Julie Coombe and former Hollyoaks actress, Sarah Jane Buckley, and tickets are £20.
Chas and Dave are back together at the prompting of their fans and they are appearing at the Arena next Friday, May 17.
They began writing and performing songs together in 1972, having been friends since the early sixties, and reached the top 20 in 1979 with Gertcha, which became a nationwide catchphrase.
Follow-up hits included Rabbit and Ain’t No Pleasing You and they have also written title songs for TV shows Till Death Do Us Part and Only Fools and Horses.
Chas and Dave come on stage at 7.45pm and tickets are £25.50.
Queen tribute band The Bohemians are performing at the Arena from 8pm next Saturday, May 18.
Established in 1996, they re-enact the glory days of Queen including the craziness of the 70s and the magic of the 80s.
The Bohemians’ set includes all the hit singles ranging from Killer Queen and Somebody To Love to Don’t Stop Me Now, We Are The Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Tickets are £16.
Carlton Main Frickley Brass Band, currently ranked tenth in the world, are playing the Arena next Sunday, May 19.
Their most recent achievements include representing Yorkshire at the National Championships of Green Britain for four consecutive years between 2008 and 2011.
They have made over 200 broadcasts on the BBC alone and have accompanied artists including Paul Robeson, Cleo Laine, Julian Lloyd Webber and Nigel Kennedy.
The performance begins at 4pm and tickets are £15 with concessions £2.50 off.
