Thadows looming at St Albans theatre festival

PUBLISHED: 22:00 19 May 2016

A hybrid of theatre, film and installation, The Thadows Loom & the Sun is Black, can be seen as the local contribution to a theatre festival next Friday, May 27.

It has been developed over the last couple of years by St Albans-based VIDEOfeet in partnership with Trestle Theatre Company, OBRA Theatre Company and supported by Arts Council England.

It is representing St Albans and Herts from 7.30pm at Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road in London, as part of the A Nations Theatre Festival, a two-month celebration of theatre from around the UK,

The Thadows Loom & The Sun is Black follows the story of a couple who travel to a remote cottage in an attempt to revive their failing relationship.

They are watched by a distant, mysterious figure who is always just out of reach and soon realise something is wrong.

Their situation, dwarfed by a cataclysmic event set deep in the cosmos, forces them to question the nature of their own reality.

The aim of the hybrid performance is to challenge the expectations of modern cinema and theatre audiences. There will also be an accompanying

performance of music and theatrical techniques used in the creation of the project.

Tickets are £10 with concessions £8, available from the box office on 0207 613 7498 or online.
