A murder mystery taking its title from a traditional song is being performed by The High Street Players in Harpenden next week.

And Evermore Shall Be So explores the events surrounding a murder which took place four years previously and how the lyrics of the song Green Grow the Rushes O seem to fit so well with the circumstances.

An author, cousin of the vicar’s wife, arrives after being encouraged to write a book about the murder. Old tensions and suspicions are brought to the surface as not everyone is in favour of raking up the past.

The play is being performed at 8pm from next Wednesday, April 22, until Friday, April 24, at the High Street Methodist Church.

Tickets at £7 for Wednesday and £8 (£9 on the door) on Thursday and Friday, are available from Manor Pharmacy, online at

www.hsplayers.org.uk or telephone 01582 620269.
