Legends from the sixties show the way to new young performers at Alban Arena

Original hits from some of the most popular performers of the sixties are being performed at the Alban Arena next Thursday, November 19.

The Sensational 60s Experience features features Herman’s Hermits with I’m Into Something Good, Leaning on a Lamp Post and Heartbeat, Chris Farlowe with Handbags and Gladrags, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted and In the Midnight Hour and Steve Ellis of Love Affair with Everlasting Love, Rainbow Valley and Bringing on Back the Good Times.

Union Gap will be performing Lady Willpower, Young Girl and Over You and the show will include a performance from tribute act New Amen Corner.

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £27 with concessions £2 off, available from the box office on 01727 844488 or online here.

Living the Dream, the performing arts school founded by entrepreneur Zoe Jackson, is putting on its Christmas Showcase next Saturday, November 21.

Featuring students aged from five to 18, the showcase has been created entirely by young people and will comprise a festive evening of dance, acting, musical theatre and singing.

Over 250 students currently take part in classes, showcases, flash mobs, events and workshops.

The show begins at 6.30pm and tickets are £10 with concessions £3 off.

* British crime thriller Legend is being shown at the Arena next Tuesday and Wednesday, November 17 and 18.

It stars Tom Hardy in the roles of both Ronnie and Reggie Kray and is based on the book about the Kray twins by John Pearson.

The movie deals with the relationship that bound the Krays together and charts their gruesome career through to their downfall.

It also stars Paul Bettany and Christopher Eccleston.

Legend can be seen at 7.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and there is a matinee at 1.30pm on Wednesday. Tickets for evening screenings are £7 with concessions £5 and for the matinee £5.

* A return visit to the Arena by The Stylistics next Friday, November 20, has sold out.
