A MUSICAL about weddings and wombats and the loveliest elephant the world has ever known comes to Harpenden Public Halls this Sunday, April 21.
Written especially for parents to enjoy with their children, The Elephant Bridesmaid invites youngsters to join Nessie the Elephant and her animal friends as they search for an outfit fancy enough – and large enough – to make her the toast of the Australian jungle.
Aimed at children aged four and upwards, there will also be a visit from popular children’s author Steven Lee who will be available to sign copies of his book How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales.
The performance begins at 2.30pm and tickets at £8.50 with children £6.50 and a family of four £25 are available from the box office on 01582 767525 or visit www.harpendenpublichalls.co.uk.
Lee Nelson will demonstrate that he is a Work in Progress at the Public Halls from 7.30pm next Thursday, April 25.
He has hosted Live at the Apollo, sold out his three-times extended Lee Nelson Live tour, had over two million people watching his Well Good Show and has a new series, Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People, coming soon to BBC3.
Lee will be bringing Dr Bob, Jason Bent and a few others with him and tickets are £15.
n The Dambusters Ball returns to the Public Halls for a second year next Saturday, April 27.
From 7.30pm to 12.30am, guests can find out what it was like to party during a bombing raid, eat for a mess tin or experience the atmosphere of a party during World War Two.
Tickets are £55 which includes a two-course wartime time meal served in army issue mess tins.
