Classic rock 'n' roll in the shape of Joe Brown returns to the Alban Arena next Friday, February 19.
The sixties icon is still performing today and he celebrated his 50th anniversary in showbusiness with a sell-out show at the Royal Albert Hall.
His Very Best Of album, released at the same time, achieved a Gold Record for 120,000 sales and was on the UK charts for eight weeks, staying four weeks in the Top 20.
Joe has continued to break box office records and recently received MOJO magazine’s Outstanding Contribution To Music Award as well as an MBE.
Joe has performed on Later With Jools Holland and at the cinema playing his part closing the show at the Concert For George Harrison.
With his five piece band, Joe will be on stage all evening from 7.30pm onwards.
Tickets are £39.50 and £29.50, available from the Arena box office on 01727 844488 or online.
* Loosely inspired by a true story, Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl is being screened at the Arena next week.
Starring Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander, it is being shown at 7.30pm from next Tuesday, February 16, to Thursday, February 18, with a 1.30pm matinee on Wednesday, February 17.
The Danish Girl portrays the intimacy that defines every marriage and is the story of Lili Elbe, a pioneer in transgender history.
It starts with a question, a simple favour asked by a wife of her husband while both are painting in their studio, setting off a transformation neither can anticipate.
Tickets for film matinees are £5 and for evenings are £7 or £5 concessions.
