FAMILY favourite musical Annie is being performed by young students of Harpenden Youth Theatre in the Public Halls on Saturday. It marks a busy week for the theatre group with older students debuting at the Maltings Arts Theatre with a murder mystery comedy tonight (Thursday).

Professional actor John Stenhouse, who founded the youth company in 2006, said: “We aim to bring fun, performance-based classes to children and young adults and keep the students excited with shows that they really want to perform.

“It’s amazing how much interest there is in this show, we had a few new potential students at a rehearsal last week.”

John continued: “It’s a real juggling act this week. As well as directing both the youth theatre productions I’ve got to step in on stage as a Maid and Daddy Warbucks. I’d better make sure the costumes are at the right theatre!”

Annie gets underway at 7pm. and tickets are priced at £8/£6 are available from the box office on 01582 767525 or in person at the Public Halls.
