Film season at the Alban Arena

FILM dominates the programme at the Alban Arena for the next couple of weeks with movies for adults and children.

Damsels In Distress, which follows a trio of girls who set out to change the male-dominated environment of the Seven Oaks college campus and to rescue their fellow students from depression, grunge and low standards of every kind, can be seen at 5pm next Tuesday, June 12, and 5pm on Wednesday June 13.

Award-winning Salmon Fishing In the Yemen is being shown again as a mid-week matinee at 1.30pm next Wednesday, June 13, and at 8pm next Tuesday, June 12.

A fisheries expert is approached by a consultant to help realise a sheik’s vision of bringing the sport of fly-fishing to the desert and embarks on an upstream journey of faith and fish to prove the impossible possible.

The Hunger Games continues screening at 8pm on Wednesday, June 13, and 5pm on Thursday, June 14. Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the 12 districts to fight to the death on live television.

Wrath Of The Titans is showing at 8pm on Thursday, June 14, 5pm on Friday, June 15, and 5pm on Friday, June 22.

It finds Perseus braving the treacherous underworld to rescue his father, Zeus, captured by his son, Ares, and brother Hades who unleash the ancient Titans upon the world.

Rihanna stars in Battleship at 8pm on Friday, June 15, 5pm on Saturday, June 16, and 8pm on Thursday, June 21. A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.

The Pirates In An Adventure With Scientists is geared at children at 11am and 2pm next Saturday, June 16.

It finds a pirate captain setting out on a mission to defeat his rivals Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz for the Pirate of the Year Award. The quest takes Captain and his crew from the shores of Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London.

American Pie: The Reunion rounds off the week at 8pm on Saturday, June 16, 5pm on Thursday, June 21, and 8pm on Friday, June 22, with Jim, Michelle, Stifler and their friends reuniting in East Great Falls, Michigan, for their high school reunion.
