BOB Geldof is appearing at the Alban Arena next Saturday, November 19, as part of his first theatre tour in three years.

He will be performing tracks from his new studio album How To Compose Popular Songs That Will Sell, as well as the hits of the Boomtown Rats.

The Irish singer, songwriter, author, occasional actor and political activist made his name as the lead singer of the Boomtown Rats in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band had hits with his compositions Rat Trap and I Don’t Like Mondays before he went on to co-write Do They Know It’s Christmas?, one of the best-selling singles of all time which raised millions for Live Aid.

He went on to be knighted at the age of 34 for his efforts.

Bob comes on stage at 7.30pm and tickets at £25 are available from the Arena on 01727 844488 or online at
