Comedy and music dominate the forthcoming week at the Alban Arena - with shows every night.

First up next Monday, October 10, is Nina Conti, fresh from the West End’s Criterion Theatre, who is bringing her show In Your Face to the Arena at 7.30pm.

The improviser has won a British Comedy Award, stormed Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News and Sunday Night at the Palladium as well as making a BAFTA nominated film – all without moving her lips.

The following night, Tuesday, October 10, it is the turn of stand-up Miles Jupp, also known as an actor, writer, thinker, father, husband, worrier, fool, star of Rev and host of The News Quiz.

He is hitting the road in a freshly-ironed shirt and robust trousers as he tries to make sense of it all.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets are £17.50.

And on Friday, October 14, British-born, Irish stand-up comedian and actor Jimeoin appears on stage from 8pm with an evening of stand-up from the star of such shows as Live at the Apollo, the Royal Variety Performance and John Bishop Show.

On the music front, the Arena has a visit from the legendary Roy Wood of The Move, Wizzard and Electric Light Orchestra fame next Sunday, October 16.

He contributed a number of hits to the repertoire of those bands while working with them in the seventies and the BBC has described him as being “responsible for some of the most memorable sounds of the Seventies”.

He is also credited with playing a major role in the glam rock, psychedelic and prog rock movements.

Roy is now back on the road again with his band, supported by The Cold Heart Revue, and tickets for the show at 7.30pm are £28.50.

Big Band Swing can be found at the Arena at 7.30pm next Wednesday, October 12, with a visit from Sinatra, Sequins & Swing which pays tribute to the hits, films and 50s Hollywood glamour of Ol’ Blue Eyes in his golden era between 1953 and 1961.

Over 30 classics will be performed by Kevin Fitzsimmons, Kitty La Roar and the Pete Long Orchestra.

Tickets are £24 and £22.50.

The late great Whitney Houston is celebrated in The Greatest Love Of All – The Whitney Houston Show which comes to the Arena at 6.30pm next Thursday, October 13.

The show features all the songs from Whitney’s 29-year career with South African vocalist Belinda Davids stepping into the diva’s shoes.

Tickets are £27 and £25.
