A FULL programme of shows and activities to get through to the summer has been unveiled by Trestle.
The St Albans arts base in Russet Drive launches the new season next month with a collaboration between its resident theatre company Trestle and emerging company Moon Fool.
Moon Fool: Ill Met By Moonlight is a re-imagining of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and it will be performed in St Albans before going off on a UK tour.
Dance and music is featured with Roam, a journey through dance, live music and poetry into the Tom Dale Dance Company's complex world of sub bass and percussion.
That will be followed by Emerge which explores the impact, inspiration and use of technology in today's world through dance.
In April Alejandro Toledo and The Magic Tombolinos come to Trestle from the London circuit, bringing foot-stomping and soul-lifting Balkan gipsy styles to the stage.
Among the other highlights are the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe hit Ernest and the Pale Moon, a Gothic tale from the award-winning Les Enfants Terribles, as well as Caruso and the Quake which tells the true story of how the famous tenor escaped from the great San Francisco Earthquake of 1906.
Family shows include How Cold My Toes, a journey through the seasons, and The Night Keeper featuring puppetry, live music and a lot of rubbish!
Regular exhibitions will continue to be held in the Gallery Café and the season includes displays from Dominic Morton, Elaine Kelly and Anna Greedharee, all showcasing their latest work.
Further details of all shows and the range of workshops and classes for adults and children held at Trestle can be obtained by visiting www.trestle.org.uk or contacting the box office on 01727 850950.
