A poetry reading by four varied poets, each with a unique style and perspective, will be held at St Albans Central Library.
Two visitors from South London – Claire Booker and Caroline Vero – will be joining local poets for Thursday evening’s reading at the Maltings, which starts at 7.30pm.
Claire and Caroline are both widely published poets.
Caroline also runs the well-known Beyond Word poetry reading event which takes place monthly at The Gipsy Hill Tavern, SE19.
Claire’s latest pamphlet, Later there will be postcards, was published earlier this year.
Local poet John Mole has recently published a pamphlet, A Different Key with New Walk Editions, closely following his collection, Gestures and Counterpoints, published in memory of his late wife, the artist Mary Norman.
St Albans-based poet Richard Osmond will also read from Useful Verses, his first collection.
Recent winner of a prestigious poetry award, the Eric Gregory Award, Richard also runs the local foragers pub, The Verulam Arms, in Lower Dagnall Street.
All are welcome for Ver Poets’ evening of poems to make you think, feel and dream.
Bring a poem of your own to read, too.
Entry is £5 at the door.
Refreshments will be available during the interval.
Doors open 7pm.
