Award winning St Albans-based harmony folk group Said the Maiden are promising a smorgasbord of delights when they appear at Folkstock in Harpenden Public Halls next Monday, October 27,

They last performed at the venue with celebrated Herts singer songwriter Kelly Oliver who recently won an Emerging Excellence Award from Help Musicians UK to complete the recording of her debut album.

Kelly, 24, from Stevenage is launching the album, This Land, at the autumnal musical extravaganza where she and Said the Maiden will be joined by Maz O’Connor, Luke Jackson and Jess Morgan,

Organiser Helen Meissner from Folkstock Arts Foundation, said: “People who are involved in the acoustic, folk and roots scene will recognise the names on the stellar line up as part of the rapidly rising ‘new guard’ of singer songwriters in the folk firmament who have been attracting BBC2 Folk Award nominations and national radio play.

“I want to reach some new people who might not realise that this wonderful music is available.”
