An organ quartet will be this weekend’s special guests at Herts Jazz Club in Welwyn Garden City.

Appearing at the Hawthorne Theatre complex on Sunday night will by Draw by Four featuring Jon Shenoy on tenor, Will Bartlett on organ, Sam Dunn on guitar, and Chris Draper on drums.

It has been a busy year for Draw by Four, having secured a 20-date UK tour in the lead up to recording and releasing their first album, Framework.

With a line-up steeped in tradition, they take the classic 60s organ quartet into brand new territory where the compositions from leader Shenoy mix contrapuntal bass lines and rhythmic hooks with thoughtful lyricism.

Mixing stark ethereal voices with gritty Hammond boogaloo, organist Will Bartlett draws on a wide palette of sounds that build the foundation for an infectious mix of groove-based original compositions, enchanting ballads and unique arrangements of avant-pop songs.

Advance tickets cost £3 students, £9 members, £11 concessions and £12 full.

Walk-ups are £5 students, £10 members, £13 concessions and £14 full.

The concert in Screen 2 of the CW Entertainment venue starts at 7.30pm.
