Almost £2,000 was raised for two charities as a result of the annual St Albans Band Aid (SABA) event which was held in the city centre last Saturday.

Musicians played outside Ladbrookes in St Peter’s Street and among numerous local acts were Co Jones, Mike Hodge, Crazy Dog, We Few. The Swan Vesta Social Club, Elvis Shmelvis and Elvince.

The money will be divided between Rennie Grove Hospice Care and the British Heart Foundation.
