TWO-tone Ska and Trojan reggae band Covered in Skas play The Horn in St Albans next Friday, December 30.

They cover the likes of The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat and Madness as well as the Maytals, Symarip, Johnny Nash and Desmond Dekker.

The band has entertained at The Horn for years and tries to stick as closely as possible to ska and reggae in its purest original form.

Admission is £6 in advance from or £7 on the door.

n No sooner is the 19th Battle of the Bands finished than The Horn is looking for entrants to its 2012 competition which gets underway in January.

Battle of the Bands can claim some notable competitors including Enter Shikari, The Gallows and Friendly Fires and is open to all genres of music.

Among the prizes for the finalists are a brand-new Fender guitar, recording time at Red Bull’s London studio and £550 in cash.
