An infectious alt-rock duo described as “a female Royal Blood” will be playing a gig in Hertfordshire as part of a tour to promote their debut album Pyro.

Rews, a London/Belfast-based rock duo consisting of songstress Shauna Tohill and vocalising beat-maker Collette Williams, will be appearing live at The Horn in St Albans on Wednesday, November 22.

Fresh from signing to Marshall Records in February, their first release, Miss You in the Dark, was critically acclaimed by tastemakers such as BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, who made it his Record of the Week.

Since their explosive performance on the John Peel Stage at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival, support for the band has been growing rapidly.

BBC 6 Music’s Mark Radcliffe named them as one of his highlights of the festival on BBC’s Glastonbury coverage, describing them as a “female Royal Blood”.

Living up to its name, debut album Pyro is an explosive collection of catchy rock anthems.

Tickets for their Horn gig cost £7 in advance and £9 on the door.

Also playing are The 924s and Basement Strippers.

Visit The Horn’s website at www.thehorn.co.uk to buy tickets.
