FORMER Abbey Organ Scholar Richard Pinel returns to the city next Wednesday, May 15, at a lunchtime concert.

Now assistant director of music at St George’s, Windsor, he will be joined by trumpeter Tim Carleston, who is a lay clerk there and also a professional trumpeter.

The unusual combination will be playing pieces by Flor Peters, Henry Purcell and JS Bach.

The concert, which starts at 1pm, takes place at St Peter’s Church, St Albans, and there will be a retiring collection in aid of Grove House.
