Duo for Radlett Music Club

PIANO and oboe come together for the next Radlett Music Club concert which is being held on Thursday, April 18.
Peter Facer, oboe, and Christopher Guild, piano, will be performing Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque and Images, Book 1, Franck’s Prelude, Chorale and Fugue, Poulenc’s Sonata for oboe and piano, Op. 185, Dutilleux’s Sonata for oboe and piano and Liszt’s Paraphrase on a waltz from Gounod’s Faust, S407.
The concert is being held at 8pm at the Karl König Hall, Delrow Community, Summerhouse Lane, Patchetts Green.
Peter read music at Girton College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a double first. He studied oboe at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and then at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover.
He is currently principal oboe of the European Union Youth Orchestra and played with them on their summer tour 2011 to Austria, Germany and Italy and their spring tour 2012 to Switzerland and the USA.
He is also the guest principal oboe of the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra in New Zealand.
Christopher studied at the Royal College of Music, where he gained a First Class B. Mus. with distinction and the coveted Artist Diploma.
As a soloist he is in demand around the UK and he is also a sought-after collaborative artiste.
Recent highlights have taken him to the Queen Elizabeth Hall’s Purcell Room, St James’s Picadilly, St John’s Smith Square and live on BBC Radio 3. He has also played as orchestral keyboardist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and City of London Sinfonia.
Admission charges for non-members are £8 on the door only. Admission is free for young people aged eight to 25.
