VIOLA player Rosalind Ventris and pianist Daniel Tong are putting on the next Radlett Music Club concert on Tuesday, April 24.

They will be performing Bruch’s Romance Op. 85, Ligeti’s Sonata for solo viola, Enescu’s Concertstück, Milhaud’s Quatre Visages and Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata D.821.

The concert is being held at 8pm at Karl Konig Hall in Patchetts Green, Aldenham.

Born in 1988, Rosalind Ventris won a scholarship to the Purcell School and then went on to read music at Cambridge, after which she continued with post-graduate studies at the Guildhall School.

Performing regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, she has played at the top UK venues and increasingly throughout Europe.

Her concerto debut was at St John’s Smith Square in 2007 and earlier this year at the Royal Festival Hall gave the world première of a work for solo viola written for her by Edwin Roxburgh.

Daniel Tong is described as a “complete pianist” and he has enjoyed a varied career, performing regularly at Britain’s major concert halls, festivals and on BBC Radio 3.

Last season Daniel performed Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and launched Beethoven Unravelled, a series of lectures and recitals. He founded and directs the Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival and is co-artistic director of the Winchester Chamber Music Festival.

Admission for non-members if £8 and admission for young people is free.
