MULTI-award-winning trumpeter Digby Fairweather performs a one-off special tribute to the giants of jazz trumpeters from Louis Armstrong onwards at Herts Jazz Club on Sunday.

Clark Tracey of Herts Jazz Club, which meets at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City, from 7.45pm, said that Digby’s contribution to jazz in broadcasting and in print had added to his justifiably high profile.

He had been praised by the late Sir John Dankworth as, “one of our most articulate jazzmen in both his words and his music.”

Digby will be joined by John Patrick on piano, Simon Thorpe, bass, and Clark Tracey on drums.

Admission is £12 on line at www.welhat.gov.uk/cw, £15 at the door and £5 for students and under-21s.
