FANSOFSTAN, the local group of jazz supporters, have the David Newton Trio making a return visit to the Maltings Arts Theatre in St Albans on Saturday.

This time around Dave, on piano, is joined by Andrew Cleyndert, whom Fansofstan supporters know well from his work with Stan Tracey, on bass and drummer Sebastiaan De Krom, who was such a hit last year.

David Newton is a compelling jazz pianist who has won the annual British Jazz Awards in his category numerous times.

Fansofstan’s next venture is on Saturday, June 16, when they will be showcasing two local professional jazz musicians – pianist Neil Angilley and his Trio and singer Donna Canale.

Tickets for Dave Newton are £12.50, and they can be bought online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/ovo (no booking fee), in person at the St Albans Tourist & Information Centre in Market Place, or by phoning 01727 864511 (£1.50 postage fee).
