Drummer Clark Tracey, who has supported so many other performers at Herts Jazz Club, steps into the spotlight on Sunday.

The Clark Tracey Quintet plays the club at the Hawthorne Theatre, Welwyn Garden City, from 7.30pm.

Clark, the son of the late jazz legend Stan Tracey, has had a career spanning three decades and has worked with virtually all of the most notable musicians in this country as well as countless visitors from abroad.

He has led bands from trios, through quartets to octets as well as composing for small groups to big bands. He is always seen leading the freshest talent on the scene, from Iain Ballamy and Django Bates in the early eighties to featuring young luminaries of today.

His latest band features another set of talented young musicians who are on tour promoting their debut CD.

Tickets, available in advance from www.hertsjazz.co.uk/currentseason.html, are £3 students/£8 members/£10 concessions/£11 full.

On the door they are £5 students/£9 members/£11 concessions/£13 full.
