Basil tinkles the ivories at jazz club concert

Ten Pieces of Silver led by pianist Basil Hodge play Herts Jazz Club this Sunday, April 19.
Basil’s professional career started in the summer of 1993 and he rose up the ranks to play with some of the leading UK players such as Jim Mullen, Tony Kofi, Dave O’Higgins, Pete Wareham and Renato D’Aiello.
His latest project pays homage to the late Horace Silver, one of the most influential composers and bandleaders in jazz. Basil has put together a quintet featuring Tony Kofi and Quentin Collins in the frontline to present an evening of Horace Silver classics as well as some of his less well-known tunes.
