A winner returns to St Albans International Organ Festival

A MAJOR prizewinner in the St Albans International Organ Competition last year, Konstantin Volostnov, returns to the city for a concert next Saturday night, November 6.

Konstantin won first prize in the interpretation competition and three other major prizes in 1999 and will be giving Saturday’s concert at 5.30pm in St Albans Abbey.

He studied in both Moscow and Stuttgart and gives concerts throughout Russia and abroad, including Canada and the USA. He has recorded for radio and television and released several CD recordings.

For the concert he will be playing music by J S Bach, Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Glazunov. He will also be performing Perpetuum Mobile by Dianov which was written for him for his first performance at the 25th Moscow Festival of Contemporary Music.

Entrance to the concert is free with a retiring collection in aid of the International Organ Festival Society. After the concert, the audience will have an opportunity to meet Konstantin.
