ASPIRING young artistes, musicians and DJs are being sought to take part in Summer Sounds, a youth music event which attracted an audience of more than 1,200 people last year.

Organised by St Albans and Harpenden Youth Councils, the venue alternates between the two locations and on July 12 this year it is back in Rothamsted Park, Harpenden.

From 2pm the audience will be entertained by local DJs, bands and solo musicians who need to come forward if they want to participate in the gig.

Bands need to have at least a couple of tracks on CD or MP3 and enough material to play for up to half-an-hour.

They should log on to www.myspace.com/sayc2006, www.sayc.org.uk or www.hytc.co.uk or email SummerSounds08@sayc.org.uk

Applications need to be in by next Friday, February 15.
