THE MYSTERIES of boot-making were revealed to Company of Ten actor Julian Wathen when he called in at The Calling Cobbler in St Albans.

Adam Lennon took time off from his busy shop in Hatfield Road to show Julian the ropes prior to him appearing as Willie Mossop, a bootmaker with hidden talents, in the next Company of Ten production, Hobson's Choice.

Set in 1880s Manchester, the evergreen classic comedy tells the tale of Henry Hobson, proprietor of a successful boot shop, and his three uppish daughters, the eldest of whom is determined to escape and devises an audacious plan to get her own way.

Hobson's Choice is being performed at the Abbey Theatre from February 26 until March 6 and tickets priced £7 to £10 with concessions available can be obtained from the box office on 01727 857861 or online at www.abbeytheatre.org.uk
