The hay bales have started arriving for the annual Kimpton Village Barn Dance, which takes place this weekend.

The Kimpton Folk fundraiser promises a fun night for all in the Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 20, at 7pm for 7.30pm.

This lively event, first staged last year to raise money for the village’s acclaimed Kimpton Folk Festival, promises to be another night of hilarity and frolics.

The band for this year’s dance, made up of locals from the village pub The Boot and aptly named Boot Camp, will be joined by well known dance caller Simon Reynolds.

All dances will be taught and called and there will also be a ‘monster raffle’ with a range of amazing prizes, including beauty treatments, cream teas and a case of wine.

Organiser John Rowlands said: “We know this is going to be an amazing night.

“The band is brilliant, and we have a few other surprises planned as well – we think people are going to love it.”

Tickets cost £10 adults and £5 under-16s.

There are still some tickets left for the Barn Dance, but these are expected to go very quickly.

If you woud like to go, call the box office on 01438 488 337.
