A PHOTOGRAPH of a circle of oaks in the snow in Rothamsted Park in Harpenden won first prize in an exhibition earlier this month.

Peter Stevens’s photograph, Oak Circle in Rothamsted Park was voted the best photograph at the annual exhibition of Harpenden Photographic Society.

It was recently highly commended in the tree category of the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition.

In second place in the well-attended exhibition at which there were 208 works on display from 35 photographers was Brian Cooke’s Bamburg Castle.
