Exhibition at St Albans Clock Tower
PUBLISHED: 09:37 11 May 2012
AN EXHIBITION of quirky clocks and time pieces created from recycled objects has gone on display in the Clock Tower, St Albans.
The artworks have been created by a group of patients from local doctors’ surgeries and St Albans City Hospital who have participated in creative workshops as part of an exercise referral scheme.
The workshops are designed to promote health and well-being and are provided by St Albans district council and managed by the arts team at St Albans Arts, Sport & Health (SAASH) – the development arm of Leisure Connection.
During one of the sessions, the group of creative clockmakers enjoyed a stroll along the Alban Way, foraging for objects to transform into quirky clocks.
The exhibition will be on display at the Clock Tower in Market Place until Sunday, June 3. The opening hours are from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. Admission to the ground floor is free but admission to the upper floors and roof is £1 for adults and free for children who must be accompanied by an adult.
