INNOVATIVE artist Doug Hyde is making a personal appearance at a Harpenden gallery on Sunday to launch his latest collection of limited editions and previously-unseen original paintings.

Doug, who was named as UK Artist of the Year in 2006, is appearing at the Lemongrove Gallery in the High Street from 3pm to 5pm where he will unveil the collection entitled Heart and Soul and his latest book which lends its name to the artwork.

Featured on both the BBC and Channel Four describing his technique and the people and events that inspire his images, Doug has made a meteoric rise from virtual unknown to fine art phenomenon.

His international reputation continues to go from strength to strength and last year he completed a whirlwind trip to Japan where he spent two weeks making personal appearances.

Olivia O’Sullivan, manager of the gallery, commented: “The demand for his work has spiralled so we are very proud that he will be here launching this wonderful collection.”
