FRIENDS Joy Thomson and Kathy Foster have brought together their artwork for an exhibition which has just opened at the Radlett Centre.

They met originally at an art session and remained in contact while developing their skills which led to Kathy graduating in 2004 with a degree in fine art and Joy gaining City and Guilds and printmaking qualifications.

Their exhibition is entitled New Visions and it demonstrates their contrasting approach.

Kathy's inspiration comes from the minutiae of life - familiar everyday objects and the spaces that are often overlooked. The exhibition features her current oil paintings that aim to convey the transience of ordinary objects and the spaces they briefly occupy.

For Joy the various printmaking techniques and their combinations provide endless new possibilities and she is continually drawn to express a personal view of particular obsessions and passing interests.

The exhibition is open from Monday to Saturday and it runs until May 1.
