AN EXHIBITION by Herts artist Elaine Kelly has opened at the Trestle Arts Base in St Albans.

Elaine both lives and works on a wide beam canal boat and draws upon the picturesque beauty of her surroundings as the main inspiration for her work.

She has been creating art for the past 25 years and has undertaken commissions for private buyers and public/commercial sector organisations.

Her work encompasses many mediums including pastels, acrylic, silk painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture - all of which has been influenced by her extensive travels around the world and the extremes in cultures she has experienced.

Elaine is currently studying kiln-formed glass at the University of Herts in the evening and her glass creations, photography and art can be seen on her website www.elainekelly.com.

The exhibition at Trestle in Russet Drive, runs until May 27.

l The Joy of Singing, a performance course with Russell Scott aimed at everyone from the complete beginner to the advanced, runs from Tuesday until May 18.

It follows two sold-out singing courses at Trestle and Russell's new course will include a mix of songs from musical theatre to the modern day classic.

Russell works on vocal production, performance technique, ensemble blend and sound with the course ending with an informal performance in front of friends and family.
