A NATIVITY with a difference is being performed by Year 6 children from a St Albans primary school next week.

The youngsters from Fleetville Junior School are performing the musical AlterNativity at the SandPit Theatre in Marshalswick.

It has been written by Jill Stevens who was behind the success of the children's group KERPOW at the Abbey Theatre in St Albans a couple of years ago.

AlterNativity is a modern retelling of the Nativity including, among others, rapping angels, R&B sheep, boy-band shepherds and Bollywood Wise Men.

Ninety children will be taking part in the show which is in the style of KERPOW.
