LOCAL young pianist Julian Trevelyan returns to St Saviour’s Church for another lunchtime recital of piano music on Monday, March 18.

The centrepiece of his programme, which starts at the St Albans church at 1.10pm, will be Prokofiev’s second sonata – a piece which is angular and lyrical by turns.

It will be framed by Debussy’s evocative Suite Bergamasque and Chopin’s evanescent second Impromptu. The programme will finish with Danzas Argentinas by Ginastera.

Despite his age, 14-year-old Julian is an experienced recitalist and his performances have been warmly praised. He has given numerous solo piano recitals in St Albans, and in Harpenden, Hitchin, Bedford, Stamford, Guildford, Waltham Abbey, Suffolk, and Kings Lynn.

Entrance to the recital is free and there will be a retiring collection in aid of Earthworks St Albans.
