Wrestling, gangsters and a lady in a van - all at the Alban Arena

Professional wrestling fans are invited to grunt and groan through a two-hour live event at the Alban Arena next Saturday, January 23.
All Star Superslam American Wrestling comes to the Arena at 7.30pm next on Saturday, January 23.
Top talent from around the world will be taking on the best of British in action from the sound of the first bell.
Tickets at £15 and £10 with a family ticket £45 are available from the box office on 01727 844488 or online.
Films continue at the Arena next week with Lady in the Van and Black Mass.
Alan Bennett’s true story, Lady In The Van, is being screened at 7.30pm next Tuesday, January 19, and Wednesday, January 20 with a Wednesday matinee at 1.30pm.
Starring Maggie Smith, Dominic Cooper, James Corden, Jim Broadbent, Russell Tovey, Frances de la Tour and Alex Jennings, it tells how a man forms an unexpected bond with a transient woman living in her car that is parked in his driveway.
Black Mass, which is being screened at 7.30pm next Thursday, January 21, is based on ‘Whitey – The life of America’s most notorious Mob Boss’ by Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill.

While his brother Bill (Benedict Cumberbatch) remains a powerful leader in the Massachusetts Senate, Irish hoodlum James “Whitey” Bulger (Johnny Depp) continues to pursue a life of crime in 1970s Boston.
Approached by FBI agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton), the lawman convinces Whitey to help the agency fight the Italian mob. As their unholy alliance spirals out of control, Bulger increases his power and evades capture to become one of the most dangerous gangsters in US history.
