THE Yellow Brick Road leads to the Alban Arena on Sunday and Monday, May 1 and 2, when a production of The Wizard of Oz comes to the city.

Bobby Davro takes the role of the Scarecrow in the show which follows the journey of Dorothy, the Munchkins and Toto to the Emerald City where the Wizard of Oz lives.

Sarah-Jane Honeywell returns to the Arena where she has appeared in pantomime as Glinda the Good Witch, while the role of Dorothy is taken by Steph Fearon who was a semi-finalist in BBC’s Over the Rainbow.

They are joined by CBBC presenter Ben Hanson as the Tin Man, Rob Forknall as The Wizard, Jimmy Burton-Iles as the Lion, Danny Mills as Squeaker and Kate Richards as the Wicked Witch.

Telling his life story during a visit to the Arena next Tuesday, May 3, will be Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey.

In Celebrities Stripped Bare at 8pm, Neil will also be talking about his well-documented career as an actor and his life away from the stage and screen – from his childhood years spent in boys’ homes to his current life as owner of his own brewery.

Despite a childhood which saw him spend seven years in care, he always loved acting and gained an unconditional scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He got his first TV job while still at drama school and then landed a role in the film The Bounty with Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson. His big break came with Men Behaving Badly with Martin Clunes, Lesley Ash and Caroline Quentin – a series which brought fame to them all.
