A new superhero character has been introduced to the animals of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
Captain Z is a planetary protector who has been created by the zoo to encourage young visitors to join her on a mission to save animals of the world.
ZSL’s team leader, Mark Holden said: “Our lively lemurs love to meet new people, investigate new things and welcomed Captain Z, the newest member of the team here at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
“Ring-tailed lemurs, like so many of the species here at the Zoo, are classified as Endangered by the IUCN Red List, so we need young superheroes to throw on their capes and come and join Captain Z in her mission to save the world’s wildlife.”
Captain Z has named three of Earth’s toughest enemies as plastic, poaching, and climate change.
Everyone can meet Captain Z, as well as ZSL’s team of vets, keepers and scientists, from May 26 to June 3. Book online at www.zsl.org
