A MUSICAL loosely based on The Little Mermaid is being performed by the West Herts Youth Music Theatre at the SandPit Theatre in Marshalswick next Saturday, April 16.
Once On This Island has been in rehearsal since last year and features 46 local teenagers and primary school children who belong to the West Herts Music Theatre and meet at St Albans Music School to rehearse.
There are two performances of the colourful show which has a Caribbean theme – 2.30pm and 7pm. Tickets are �9 with concessions �7, available on line at www.sandpittheatre.co.uk
The youth music theatre meets in two weekly sessions. Twelve to 19 year olds meet between 7pm and 9pm on Monday evenings and seven to 12 year olds from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday afternoons.
