To mark the 50th anniversary of the recording of Stan Tracey’s iconic music to Under Milk Wood, Herts Jazz Club is celebrating this Sunday, May 17.
As part of a national tour, Stan’s quartet, with Steve Melling replacing Stan, perform the narrated version with Stan’s grandson, Ben Tracey. Also in the line up is Bobby Wellins, who featured on the original recording.
The evening at the club which meets at the Hawthorne Theatre, Welwyn Garden City, gets underway at 7.30pm and tickets can be obtained in advance from www.hertsjazz.co.uk/gigs.html are £3 students/£10 members/£13 concessions/£14 full.
On the night they are £5 students/£12 members/£15 concessions/£16 full.
