VETERAN Labour politician Tony Benn will be talking about his life and career at The Radlett Centre on Sunday.

An Audience with Tony Benn will reveal what the man who famously left Parliament to “spend more time on politics” thinks about the modern Labour party.

He is expected to be his usual straight-talking self, giving frank responses and recounting entertaining political anecdotes.

He said: “I think people are fed up with sound-bites, spin, sensation and scandal from politicians. What people really want is a chance to discuss issues that affect all our lives and to have that discussion in a sensible, uninterrupted and civilised manner.

“I get quite excited by the opportunity to bring politics back to the people – which is probably not a good thing for a man of my age!”

The evening gets underway at 7.30pm and tickets are 18 with concessions 16, available from the box office on 01923 859291 or www.radlettcentre.co.uk

Theatre company Tall Stories follows the quick-thinking Mouse into the deep, dark wood in the modern classic.

Illustrated by Axel Scheffler, Julia Donaldson’s original book has sold over four million copies in 38 languages.

Tall Stories present the timeless story in a production that links original music with movement. Aimed at children aged three and over, tickets are 10.
