THREE concerts of Christmas music are being held at St Albans Organ Theatre this weekend.
On Saturday, December 12, there will be matinee and evening performances featuring international concert star and recording theatre organist Nicolas Martin.
He began studying piano when he was nine but switched to the organ two years later when he visited Blackpool and heard the Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer - one of the most famous and widely-heard theatre pipe organs in the world.
Since then he has spent several summer seasons playing there and for some years, he was the organist at Turner's Musical Merry-go-Round in Northampton. He has also put on concerts all over the world.
The matinee at the theatre in Camp Road begins at 2.30pm and the evening show at 7.45pm with tickets 7.50, available by calling 01727 768652.
On Sunday, December 13, the Mechanical Instrument Christmas Special runs from 2.15pm to 5pm and as well as the theatre's own Charles Hart Collection of dance organs and other instruments there will be guest organs and a surprise or two.
Tickets are 5.50, available from the number above.
