AN ECLECTIC evening of musical theatre kicks of the OVO summer season at the company’s Pudding Lane, St Albans, theatre.
A Musical Journey, which is being performed tonight and Saturday (May 20/21) evening, incorporates a diverse mix of composers and styles from Cole Porter to Mamma Mia via Rogers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The show explains everything the audience would want to know about the genre from how the Romans invented tap shoes to why a woman churning butter created a theatre revolution as well as the local links of one of the greats of musical theatre.
It is the second time OVO has put on A Musical Journey – it played to packed houses in venues across Herts last autumn.
Both performances start at 8pm and tickets at 12.50 with concessions 7.50 are available from the box office on 07807 521436 or online at www.ovo.org.uk
