ROCK band The Zombies return to their home town this Sunday to play at the Alban Arena.

Led by Rod Argent (piano, organ and vocals) and Colin Blunstone (vocals) along with Jim and Steve Rodford, The Zombies scored British and American hits in 1964 with She’s Not There and in the US, singles such as Tell Her No.

Their 1968 album, Odessey and Oracle, comprising 12 songs by the group’s principal songwriters, Argent and Chris White, is ranked number 100 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The Zombies receive an enthusiastic welcome wherever they play in the world but St Albans is their home town and where they started their climb to fame. They come on stage at 8pm.

Canadian stand-up comedians Craig Campbell, Stewart Francis and Glenn Wool are coming to the Arena as The Lumberjacks next Wednesday, May 29, with their Edinburgh Festival 2012 show.

Fifteen years ago, the three young Canadian comics made their Edinburgh debut at the fledgling Stand Comedy Club. A decade and a half later and they have a string of broadcast credits and live touring under their belts

Between them, they have appeared on Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Live At The Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News and Dave’s One Night Stand.

They will perform new material as well as classic routines when they appear at 8pm. Tickets are £16..

Celebrating their 22nd anniversary and Sir Mick’s 70th birthday, The Counterfeit Stones- Knock Up Your Daughters will be playing at the Arena next Friday, May 31.

The Counterfeit Stones perform The Stones’ greatest hits - but at nothing like the cost of a ticket to see the real thing.

They mix classic Stones songs with ‘mockumentary’ style videos, retro costumes and humour.
